Unique glamping at The Lake

The lake – unique glamping, camping and fishing

The lake is a site running along side RAF Wainfleet. It is situated about a mile and a half from the RAF site and is home to the rest of our quirky accommodation. The lake itself is a picturesque piece of the countryside surrounded by trees and hedges. It is amongst these trees that you will find a variety of unique glamping pods. This gives it a very private and peaceful feel. There is an abundance of wildlife and the lake itself is well stocked with a variety of fish. Fishing is allowed but most of our guests like to take advantage of a swim, so fishing may well be disturbed.

We have various paddleboards, an inflatable dingy and even blow up unicorn called Samantha. Kindly donated by one of our guests!

We have our local pub within walking distance from the lake and it is about 7 miles to Skegness.

Unique glamping Accommodation

Dotted about around the lake we have a number of unusual forms of accommodation, with plans for a couple more. So far we have Kaleb the combine, the unimog army ambulance, a Samaritan tank and a nearly finished Green Goddess. All that has been finished can be seen by clicking on the links in this piece or by looking under “the digs” tab. Anything not finished can still be followed on the posts under “renovation projects”.

Camping

We have allocated a small area for tents on the opposite side of the lake from the quirky accommodation. It is therefore within a 2 minute walk from the shower block where you will find toilets, showers, wash basins and on the outside of the building a kitchen sink with hot and cold water for washing up any pots and pans.

“The Beach”

To add a little extra attraction to the lake, we have now added an artificial beach. Away from the individual pods and in its own quite corner of the lake, we have spread a few tons of sand to create relaxing beach area. Perfect for a picnic or even a bbq.

Fishing

Feel free to have a fish at any time. All I will say is that our guests often use the lake for swimming so you may be disturbed. The lake is stocked with carp, chub, barbel, tench and perch.

Location

We are about 7 miles from the seaside town of Skegness. Always worth a visit as the beaches are lovely and there are plenty of activities for young and old.

If not in Skegness then there are a number of other places to visit depending on interests. In our village we have Lincolnshire wildlife park, which boasts the largest collection of tigers in the uk along with a wide variety of other animals. In the next village, Wainfleet, we have Batemans brewery and it’s visitor centre.

Not far away are a number of different aviation themed visitor attractions such a the Lincolnshire aviation centre, home of a Lancaster bomber.

As well as a number of wildlife attractions such as Gibraltar point, part of the larger organisation which is Lincolnshire wildlife trust.

Feel free to ask one of us if you have any other areas on interest that we might be able to advise you on.
