An unusual place to stay

A unique holiday experience

An unusual place to stay

If you are looking for a completely unique holiday destination to venture to, then The Tower at RAF Wainfleet will definitely tick that box! It certainly provides unusual accommodation for that quirky holiday whether you’re a couple, a group as large as 28, or even the family looking for an interesting place to stay that will keep the kids entertained. Being as the tower is situated in the middle of our family run farm there are plenty of things to do and see on your doorstep, including farm walks, cycle rides, a fishing lake, exploring the marsh and a secluded but picturesque grass paddock ideal for picnics and relaxing. Not to mention the local wildlife park just down the road.

On site itself there is a communal games room equipped with darts board, table tennis and pool table so far plus the addition of a Lynx military helicopter and a Jetstream aeroplane for the kids to enjoy. Both these forms of unusual accommodation have been recently to be turned into glamping pods for all ages.

Stunning views are provided by the control room at the top of the tower, where you can still see the remains of boats that were once used as targets on the range. The marshland you can see over the last sea bank is a site of special scientific interest (SSSI) and if you’re a bird watcher or enjoy a good sunrise and sunset, you’ve definitely found the right place to stay!

The perfect location

Not only is the Tower remarkable for it’s very own uniqueness and heritage, it’s also surrounded by a huge host of equally entertaining things to do all year round too. The local area has an undoubtedly incredible aviation history with many an airbase to visit, including the East Kirkby aviation heritage centre and the Battle of Britain Memorial flight visitor centre at RAF Coningsby.

Being located so closely to the coast, it has some stunning wildlife on it’s doorstep with the Lincolnshire Wildlife Park, Gibraltar point nature reserve and Skegness Aquarium all within 10 miles from the Towers doorstep. With Skegness and Batemans Brewery just down the road, there’s also plenty of places to be fed and watered whilst being entertained at the same time!

This remarkable accommodation can comfortably cater from 1 to 28 guests across four individual and unique set of digs.
